|Overview of the previous work done in Education:
Early Childhood Care & Education (ECCE) is one of the Flagship programmes of DHFL CSR activities. ECCE refers to programmes for children from prenatal to six years of age which cater to their needs in all domain of development, i.e. physical, motor, language, cognitive, socio- emotional, and creative & aesthetic appreciation, and ensure synergy with health and nutrition. DHFL has collaborated with the Department of Women and Child Development, Government of Maharashtra to strengthen the existing Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) services aimed at delivering ECCE to children under six years of age, through Anganwadi (Courtyard Centres). In 2015 - 16, 996 anganwadis were stimulated in Palghar & Vasai Taluka, Maharshtra, India. Our intervention in in Palghar district, is phased in three stages. The first phase focusses on school preparedness and the second phase is directed towards nutritional and healthcare management. The third phase will concentrate on infrastructure improvement and promotion of better hygiene practices. We continued deepening the impact in these anganwadis through comprehensive education and nutrition intervention in throughout the year 2016-17. During the last year, the programme was extended to cover 1886 + anganwadi in Palghar, Vasai, Dahanu & Talasari Blocks of Palghar district and we further extended the programme and launched it in Bokaro, Jharkhand with 465 Anganwadis.
