About Us
Details of Education programme (s) "Shyamchi Aai Foundation’s single-minded mission is to help young adults achieve a meaningful synthesis between their inner strengths and the outside world ? and we strive relentlessly towards this outcome by laying down the right educational framework focusing on Life Skills, Career Guidance, Mentoring and Teacher training. Shyamchi Aai Foundation (SAF) has collaborated with the Government of Maharashtra since 2016 to reach more than 32 lakh grade 10 State Board students to provide them with holistic career guidance– Kal Chachani Project. This career guidance project is implemented through a three-pronged approach which includes - an Interest Test, an Aptitude test, and an online Web portal/mobile app (www.mahacareermitra.in) to equip students to make informed career decisions. Shyamchi Aai Foundation (SAF) is the only Non-Pro?t Organization to have developed this scalable and replicable model for career guidance at a systemic level. Shyamchi Aai Foundation believes in working within a trinity of the Government, Corporate, and NGO, wherein the advantage of each of the stakeholder comes together in creating the sustainable change. In 2018, SAF collaborated with the State Governments of Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Rajasthan to implement the Career Guidance Project for Grade 10 State board students. Additionally, SAF is also enhancing the Career Guidance project in Maharashtra for the third year and exploring opportunities of collaborating with the Government of Goa and the Government of Assam. In 2017, SAF designed and developed the life skills curriculum that was adopted by the Government of Maharashtra and published by Bal Bharati as a mandatory subject Self- development and art appreciation to all grade 9 State board students in Maharashtra. The Self Development and Art Appreciation textbook is designed to enhance the emotional intelligence, develop social leadership and a learning mindset in adolescent students. The grade 10 curriculum developed by SAF and will be rolled out from the academic year 2018. In 2017, Shyamchi Aai Foundation (SAF) developed and implemented an in-service online training program – Avirata, to over 42,000+ secondary school teachers from government and government-aided schools across Maharashtra. It is a unique online continuous professional development program of RMSA for in-service training of secondary teachers across Maharashtra. Avirata is an RMSA funded project of Government of Maharashtra and SAF is the implementation partner. At SAF, we also focus on identifying children who need financial support, and through the assistance of our donors and corporate partners, we help them become the best person they can be, by restoring their right to equal education and a meaningful life. SAF in partnership with ABP Majha provides mentorship and guidance to 30 students from across Maharashtra through a two-year residential mentoring program held every quarter. This program aims at providing mentoring to the students to help them hone their skills, understand their interest and ability, and equip them to make informed career decisions. Apart from the workshop, the mentees also receive support and guidance throughout the year. Life Skills and Career Guidance Lab was established by SAF in association with Tech Mahindra Foundation at Yashwantrao Chavan High School, Bibwewadi. Through this intervention, SAF facilitates the training of teachers conducting the Self-development and art appreciation subject. Simultaneously, SAF also provides support to teachers teaching this subject from 16 other Secondary Marathi Medium PMC schools across Pune. A total of 2750 students from the 9th grade, 180 students from the 10th grade and 22 teachers from 17 schools will benefit from this program."
