E Connect Program
CII Foundation has initiated an e connect program for students with the aim of filling gap and bridging the digital divide by connecting school children with digital literacy for whom access to such infrastructure and technology has been a challenge
The project is being undertaken by CII Foundation as part of its member CISCO’s CSR project
The beneficiaries for the project include students aged between 9 to 16 years especially those studying in government schools and or are disadvantaged and lack access to IT resources.
Presently the program is being undertaken in 25 schools across three states Bihar Rajasthan and Uttarakhand.
Aadarsh Vidyalaya Program
II Foundation has been implementing Mission SoS Sanitation in School in various Government schools in Saharsa District Bihar The team realized that the schools being located in remote areas often suffer disruptions in electricity and face water issues for drinking and sanitation purpose
To address the issue CIIF with support from Tata Power Community Development Trust initiated Adarsh Vidyalaya Project and used solar energy to make schools sustainable through unhindered supply of electricity and water
To begin with the project is being implemented in two schools District Boys and Girls High School in Saharsa impacting the quality of education of over 3500 students.
The project aimed at rebuilding eight completely damaged primary schools in Tehri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand
Construction at each school included classrooms toilets kitchen with chimney, retaining walls and boundary walls rain water collection system and ramp Electrical and sanitary fittings furniture and teaching learning aids are also being provided
The construction of schools is divided into two phases where in four schools were constructed in each phase
In the first phase the Foundation completed construction of the four primary schools in the villages of Sinjal, Mulaya and Bagwan and Upper Primary School in Satagad village of Tehri district Uttarakhand
Further to this in the second phase of the project our other primary and upper primary schools in Hadiyada Pangaria and Anthwalgaon village were constructed
