Humana People to People India (HPPI) has extensive experience in designing, developing, implementing and assessing innovative learning systems and approaches in the field of primary education. HPPI is working in Public Private Partnership with the Government of Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh in the area of Primary Education for providing value added inputs in District Institute of Education and Training (DIETs) and Govt. Schools. HPPI has developed Kadam programme based on the Step-up methodology to mobilise the out of school children, providing age appropriate bridge learning and mainstreaming into formal school. The module is aligned with NCERT and guidelines of MHRD on implementing Special Training Centres for bridge education of out of school children. The Kadam Programme took its current shape after a successful pilot in tribal districts of MP and Urban areas of Gurgaon & Delhi.
Kadam programme is currently being implemented in Haryana in partnership with Haryana School Shiksha Pariyojna Parishad (Govt. of HR) to reach out to 30,000 children in 3 years. Similarly, the Rajiv Gandhi Shiksha Mission is implementing this methodology in partnership with HPPI in the state of Chhattisgarh, the programme will reach out to 10,000 children in the 1st year out of a 5 year MoU. Under this model, CG Govt. is providing teachers and teaching learning materials to the intervention. HPPI is facilitating the intervention by providing Kadam Tool kit, capacity building of teachers and tracking the progress of the intervention with support from CSR under the same MoU. Kadam- the out of school children programme has recently been started in Thane district of Maharashtra with support from Citi CSR and to be scaled in other districts also in partnership with the Maharashtra Govt.
