Key success indicators : To help the students at the Secondary and Higher Secondary level to get an insight about the opportunities that is available which is more carreer oriented. The Department of Business Administration St. Anthony’s College, Shillong and the Indian Institute of Management(IIM), Shillong are willing to expand the collaboration to a larger population in the years to come.
Problem statement : Our present educational environments have generally stressed on the pursuit of academics, which is expected. In such systems, it is normal for students to seek careers in offices within the country, and in most cases, probably follow the same pathways left by their parent, rather than encouraging them to map out newer pathways that will utilise their skills and inherent potential. However, today, it is a fact that most of our students will enter a workforce where instability would be the new normal and where they will have to be self-directed, original, and creative in order to stand out in order to thrive. Society loves entrepreneurs, but somehow we lack good entrepreneurs. In other words, even if students in the future do not become entrepreneurs, they will have to think like entrepreneurs.
Proposed solution : This proposal seeks to offer another input into the educational environment, which is inclined towards the development and inculcation of entrepreneurial thinking and approach, which might open the student’s current thinking towards doing something else which is different and which may have promising future growth, for them, as well as for society in general. • To make aware about the opportunities to avail besides just mere Gove. Jobs. • To polish the Students interest, capabilities & potentialities besides academics. • To bring about flexibility in upward mobility of vocationalisation of Education at the Secondary & the Higher Secondary Level.
