Key success indicators : Number of students having access to Digital technology. Number of teacher having access to digital based modern teaching methods. Improved learning outcomes. Lesser gap between rural-urban area schools in terms of availability of infrastructure for digital education and learning outcomes.
Problem statement : Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has brought proliferation of innovative means for spread and coverage of education at school level as also for professional development of teachers. The State needs to induct digital education in all government schools to make teaching – learning process interesting and to improve the quality of school education, and it is expected that the problem of falling enrolments in government schools would also be addressed particularly at the primary stage of schooling. The State of Punjab plans to ensure, in phased manner universal access of ICT, smart classrooms and other digital learning gadgets among the students studying in classes pre-primary to 12th in its government schools. In the initial phase the main focus would be rural and difficult area schools.
Proposed solution : Schools equip with digital technology and other teaching learning resources enable the teachers to teach efficiently and effectively. The teaching and learning process becomes interesting when e-content including real videos and animations are used through variety of technology tools. Assessment and evaluation through digital technology is quick in diagnosing areas of improvement. All this leads to improved learning of students.
