Problem statement : To identify the Zero Investment best practices of teachers and then the wide scale implementation of these best practices across government schools.
Proposed solution : Problem: The government at centre and state level both regularly releases a large number policies, schemes and regulations (including the landmark Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan and Right To Education (RTE) Act) to ensure that this massive machinery works in sync with the country’s literacy and employability goals. And still, the goal of providing every child quality and equitable education is a far fetched dream. India ranks 131 among 188 countries in human development index, with only 69 percent children reach secondary education and merely 25 percent reaching tertiary. The country’s poor performance, especially in rural areas where nearly 70 percent of our population lives, is generally credited to dearth of teachers, teacher absenteeism and poor quality of teachers. Solution: The issue is being addressed by many teachers through creative solutions that use existing resources and no money. Such attempts may lack the precision or clarity of agenda of a lab-manufactured innovation, yet these are ‘innovations’, ideated locally and supremely true to their contexts. These game-changing ideas remain scattered, isolated and un-organised. The growing consensus in the global development community is that if India is to achieve inclusive growth.
