Key success indicators : Quality of class room teaching, teacher preparation and improved learning outcomes. Improvement in the NAS findings over baseline
Problem statement : The State Andhra Pradesh was bifurcated and new State of Telangana was formed on 2nd June 2014. Consequent to State bifurcation the staff of Educational Management and Supervision have been bifurcated and allotted to two States. The State of Telangana created new districts i.e. 21 to the existing 10 districts for reaching of Governance to all the habitations. There are 31 Districts being operational in the State. Now the focus is on improvement of quality of School Education.
Proposed solution : There is considerable progress on the important indicators of education i.e. access, enrolment, retention, school infrastructure except quality. Concerted efforts are being taken up to improve the quality through trainings, curricular reforms etc. However the NAS and other surveys shows the decimial performance of children on the foundational skills of reading, writing and arithmetic. The studies also shows that the pedgagical renewal process under various basic education process i.e. DPEP, SSA, RMSA have not been take route in the schools as expected. Therefore it is required for a system of robust school inspection and school evaluation so as to improve the quality of school practices and children learning outcomes. One of the important indicator that influence the quality is school inspection and supervision with professionalized inspectorate. Therefore it is required to develop the capacities of staff of education management and supervision.
